Job summary

Xelix in London is hiring an AI Engineer to join our growing AI Engineering team. You’ll design and build production AI systems, combining machine learning, large language models, and strong software engineering to solve real problems across documents, email, and financial data.

This role focuses on production-ready systems, using modern AI tools to empower engineers, with collaboration across product and engineering to deliver high-impact features.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years building and shipping ML/AI-powered systems into production.
• Strong Python and production software design.
• Experience with ML/LLM breadth and AI tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production AI systems, including agent-based workflows and multi-step reasoning.
• Develop and refine models across text, vision, and structured data.
• Work with hosted and self-hosted models and evaluate performance and cost.
• Write clean, scalable Python and contribute to observable systems.
• Design evals, measure performance, and improve with real-world feedback.
• Use AI coding tools to move faster while maintaining standards.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to deliver high-impact features.
