Job summary

Brown & Brown UK is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build and scale AI applications from the ground up, working with LLMs, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems. You will deploy solutions into production across data, documents, and business processes.

You'll develop AI-powered applications, including copilots and intelligent document processing, and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to move ideas from PoC to enterprise deployment.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience and production-ready AI deployment expertise.
• Experience building and deploying AI/ML applications in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Claude, or other leading LLM platforms.
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search.
• Experience with cloud-native development and modern software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and scalable system design.
• Passion for solving complex technical challenges and building high-quality software.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building AI-powered applications, including copilots, intelligent document processing solutions, and conversational AI platforms.
• Developing and deploying LLM-powered services and agentic workflows that solve real business challenges.
• Building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using structured and unstructured enterprise data.
• Creating scalable cloud-native solutions on GCP, Vertex AI, BigQuery and Cloud Run.
• Engineering secure APIs, integrations, and backend services that connect AI capabilities with existing business systems.
• Optimising AI performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency in production environments.
• Collaborating with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to take ideas from PoC to enterprise deployment.
