Job summary

Swap is building the infrastructure behind agentic commerce. We are seeking a software engineer to own features end-to-end across infrastructure, tooling, and guardrails for AI workflows, from scoping to production rollout.

You will work with distributed data systems, maintain a strong testing discipline, and contribute to CI/CD improvements while collaborating with teams to boost productivity and cost observability in a fast-growing platform.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, comfortable operating independently on unfamiliar codebases.
• Track record of owning and shipping mid-sized features or projects end to end.
• Experience building distributed data systems, feedback loops, and measuring impact with metrics.
• Strong testing discipline and experience improving CI/CD or developer tooling.
• Focus on solving problems rather than a specific tech stack or language.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: experience with LLM/agentic tooling, AI cost observability, or internal developer platforms.
• Generalist mindset with a learning and growth attitude.

Responsibilities

• Build cost observability and usage-tracking tooling across LLM and agent workloads.
• Design and ship internal tooling and guardrails for agentic coding workflows.
• Evaluate new AI tools, models, and vendors; turn findings into build-vs-buy recommendations.
• Write and maintain production-quality code and automated tests for platforms you own.
• Review peers' code for correctness, readability, and maintainability.
• Own delivery of projects end to end, from scoping through production rollout.
• Establish and socialize best practices for AI usage across the business.
