Job summary

Cisco is hiring a Software Engineer (Senior/Lead SRE) to design and deploy core AI-powered platform capabilities for production observability and automated remediation. You will blend SRE practices with agentic AI to monitor, diagnose, and auto-remediate complex global SaaS infrastructure.

Lead design, implement, and operate high-availability services, mentor engineers, and partner with global teams to drive reliability and engineering excellence across a large-scale environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 8+ years in CS/SE or advanced degree with relevant years.
• Experience delivering distributed, high-availability SaaS platforms at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Python/Go/Java/C++ and building microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design high-resilience software systems for AI-assisted observability and automation.
• Build AI agents, MCP integrations, and evaluation pipelines for automated ops decisions.
• Implement ingestion and cross-distributed telemetry pipelines to speed MTTD/MTTR.
• Develop safe production automation with HITL guardrails and security controls.
• Lead code reviews, set engineering guidelines, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable software and AI capabilities.
