Meta is seeking Security Engineers with Privacy and Data protection expertise to join our Applied Artificial Intelligence organization. You will apply deep privacy engineering to hard, real-world problems around how data is collected, used, retained, exposed, and deleted at scale.

You will work at the intersection of privacy and frontier AI, shaping how models respect obligations, manage de-identification, and enforce data access controls, while mentoring peers and disseminating findings across

Qualifications

• BS or MS in CS, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years hands-on engineering in technical privacy, data protection, or privacy-adjacent security engineering.
• Deep expertise in at least one privacy subdomain (purpose limitation, retention/deletion, data access, de-identification, etc.).
• Experience implementing privacy obligations in production systems.
• Software engineering proficiency with Python, PHP, Java, C/C++ or equivalent.
• Track record architecting privacy systems, controls, or programs at scale.
• Ability to define and drive complex, ambiguous problem spaces with group-level impact.

Responsabilités

• Identify and solve ambiguous privacy problems within the space where requirements are initially unknown, driving cross-team solutions.
• Architect privacy capabilities and evaluation infrastructure that set the standard across teams; drive platform-level decisions for AI-driven privacy solutions.
• Lead the strategy for privacy problems AI cannot yet reason about: jurisdictional obligations, de-identification standards, data lifecycle controls, and data access reasoning.
• Shape how privacy expertise translates into AI capabilities; define methodologies for model improvement.
• Drive cross-organizational partnerships to define how privacy and AI intersect and influence technical direction.
• Break down problems into smaller work streams, owning the most complex pieces while enabling others to execute.
• Mentor engineers, build a privacy engineering community, and model Meta values in practice.
• Disseminate findings through internal publications, knowledge sharing, and community contributions.
