Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineer in its Applied AI (AAI) org to solve hard, real-world security problems and prototype AI-powered defenses. You will blend hands-on security engineering with applied research, building AI-native defenses and advancing security posture at scale.

The role emphasizes cross-team collaboration, adversarial research leadership, and defining scalable security methodologies that integrate AI tooling across Meta’s platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on security engineering across multiple domains.
• Deep attacker TTP knowledge with ability to advance state of the art.
• Proficiency in Python or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Identify and solve ambiguous problems within a Security, Trust, or Safety domain, driving cross-team impact.
• Architect security systems and capabilities that set the standard across teams.
• Drive platform-level decisions for AI-driven security solutions at Meta's scale.
• Lead adversarial research, threat intelligence programs, detection systems, or AI-augmented investigations.
• Shape how security expertise translates into AI capability and scalable model improvement.
• Set and improve quality standards for security engineering practices across teams.
• Define processes and workflows that achieve scale and automation.
• Foster cross-organizational partnerships to define how security and AI intersect.
• Break down problems, own complex pieces, and enable others to execute.
• Mentor engineers, build a community, and model security practices.
• Drive adoption of security standards and proactively communicate with leadership.
• Disseminate findings through internal publications and knowledge sharing.
