Job summary

Vega is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to build features end to end across our platform, spanning Java/Spring Boot services and APIs to React and TypeScript interfaces. You will work with AI tools as a core part of development, bringing AI-powered capabilities into the product.

This is a London-based, in-office role four days a week. We value practical backend and frontend expertise, strong problem-solving, and the ability to ship with speed in a fintech context.

Qualifications

• Proven professional software engineering experience across frontend and backend, ideally fintech.
• Fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and ability to review, test and own AI-generated code.
• Experience building with microservices and scalable RESTful APIs.
• Strong proficiency with Java/Spring Boot, React, TypeScript and modern cloud distributed architecture (AWS/Kubernetes).
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-ambition startup culture.

Responsibilities

• Own problems from scoping through shipping and iteration across the full stack.
• Integrate AI features and agent/tool workflows into the platform.
• Build and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs with scalable performance.
• Collaborate with designers to implement responsive UI using React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
• Champion testing (unit/integration/e2e) and DevOps best practices.
• Share knowledge and support peers to uphold a culture of excellence.
