Balance is an AI-native accounting firm with offices in London and Copenhagen. We automate data entry while you provide judgement, client relationships, and insights to keep the books audit-ready at a flat monthly price.

As a Finance Consultant in London, you’ll own a portfolio of clients from end to end, from e-commerce to SaaS, acting as their dedicated accountant and trusted advisor while shaping how the product works with real client feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience in audit, outsourcing or client accounting acknowledged as part of daily duties.
• Enjoys working with clients and explaining numbers clearly.
• Able to spot mis-booked entries and drive corrections.
• Ambitious and eager to grow within a building, not just maintaining.
• Interest in AI and willingness to discuss tools or automation.

Responsibilities

• Own your clients’ books and approve what our AI books to ensure accuracy.
• Close the month and run month-end close for your portfolio in days, not weeks.
• Handle VAT returns, management accounts, year-end and corporation tax prep as needed.
• Be the trusted advisor; explain numbers and strategic implications to founders.
• Collaborate with engineers to turn ground observations into product improvements.
