Job summary

Monks is seeking an Analytics Engineer to turn raw GA4, media and CRM data into modelled datasets in BigQuery and to push AI-enabled analytics forward for major brands. Join the Data team in Sydney or Melbourne (hybrid), working on measurement strategy, tagging, data engineering, reporting and applied AI.

You will build pipelines on Google Cloud, write strong SQL, and collaborate with tagging specialists, clients and stakeholders to deliver trusted data products and insights.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL including window functions and CTEs.
• Hands-on BigQuery experience (partitioning, clustering, cost control).
• Knowledge of GA4 and BigQuery export schemas.
• Built and scheduled pipelines on Google Cloud (Composer, Dataform, dbt, Cloud Run).
• Python for data work; API extraction and automation.
• Version control with Git and documentation habits.
• Able to explain data to non-technical clients.
• Interested in applying AI to analytics with prior work.
• Experience with GTM, CM360, DV360, SA360, Vertex AI or Gemini APIs is a plus.
• Privacy/consent topics familiarity; Google Cloud certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pipelines and modelling: build and maintain pipelines that bring GA4 exports, ad platform data and client CRM data into BigQuery.
• Model raw event data into clean, documented tables using SQL and dbt or Dataform.
• Orchestrate jobs with Cloud Composer (Airflow), Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
• Set up data quality tests and monitoring to catch issues before dashboards.
• GA4 and measurement: work with GA4 BigQuery export schemas and attribution rebuilding.
• Partner with tagging specialists to ensure GTM/GA4 data quality.
• Translate measurement plans into tables and metrics.
• Analysis and reporting: answer client questions with SQL across funnels, channels, and LTV.
• Build the semantic layer behind Looker Studio and Looker dashboards.
• Present findings to clients and internal stakeholders in plain language.
• AI: prepare and govern datasets for BigQuery Conversational Analytics, Gemini and agent-based tools.
• Conceptualise PoC AI tools on client data such as NLP querying and anomaly detection.
• Use AI coding assistants to ship faster with fewer errors.
