Job summary

T H White Ltd is seeking an Agricultural Service Technician to service, maintain and repair tractors, combines and related equipment. This role blends workshop and field-based work across customer sites, with a focus on reliability, diagnostics and first-class service.

You will have an apprenticeship or NVQ/Land-based qualification, strong diagnostic skills across engines, hydraulics and electronics, a precise approach, a customer‑first mindset and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or NVQ in land-based engineering recognised in the UK.
• Strong diagnostic ability across engines, hydraulic and electronic systems.
• Precise, methodical approach and pride in workmanship.
• Customer-first attitude and ability to work independently in the field.
• Full UK driving licence and residence in Frome or surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Maintain reliability and performance of customer machinery through servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Combine workshop and field-based service work for tractors, combines and related equipment.
• Conduct advanced fault diagnostics across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Provide first-class technical support and on-site customer service.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold safety and presentation standards.

Hours:

39 hours a week, Mon- Thurs 08:00-17:00 Fri - 08:00-16:00.

Additional overtime (paid at time and a half) is available earlier and later should you wish to earn more.

Key Duties will Include:

You’ll play a key part in maintaining the reliability and performance of our customers’ agricultural machinery, combining both workshop and field-based service work, including:

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing tractors, combines, forage harvesters, balers, and telehandlers.
• Conducting advanced fault diagnostics across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Completing complex repairs.
• Providing first-class technical support and customer service on-site and in the field.
• Maintaining accurate work records and ensuring high standards of safety and presentation.

The Ideal Applicant:

We’re looking for Agricultural Service Technicians with significant agricultural engineering experience, individuals confident in their ability to handle modern agricultural machinery (tractors or combines) to a manufacturer-recognised standard.

You’ll need to have:

• A recognised apprenticeship, C&G or NVQ in Land based engineering or a transferable qualification.
• Strong diagnostic ability across engines, hydraulic and electronic systems.
• A precise, methodical approach and pride in workmanship.
• A customer-first attitude and the ability to work independently in the field.
• A full UK driving licence and currently live in Frome or the surrounding area.
