Seismic Recruitment in Peterborough is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to work on aftertreatment and emissions projects from concept to production. The role is site-based, a 12-month initial contract, with rates of £37.80 per hour (PAYE) or £51.32 per hour (umbrella).

You will develop concepts, manage 3D CAD models and BOMs, apply GD&T, and support DFMEA and validation activities with suppliers across fabrication, casting and plastics.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required.
• Strong 3D CAD design experience.
• Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials.
• Good GD&T knowledge and practical application.
• Engineering drawing and technical specification creation.
• Experience with component/system design, development and validation.
• Experience with DFMEA or similar risk assessment.

Responsabilités

• Create and develop engineering concepts and component designs.
• Manage 3D CAD models, drawings and technical specifications.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Apply GD&T and engineering standards to designs.
• Support DFMEA, risk assessment and validation activities.
• Develop validation plans and support component and system-level verification.
• Work with suppliers to develop robust technical solutions.
• Investigate quality, manufacturing and field issues, supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Communicate project progress and technical decisions to engineering teams and key stakeholders.
