Job summary

Planwell Recruitment Ltd in Northampton is seeking a Transport Operator for the afternoon shift to join a busy transport operation. You will support drivers, coordinate with the warehouse team and help ensure smooth deliveries.

Ideal candidates have transport coordination experience, strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and a good grasp of tachograph rules and Working Time Directive. Immediate start available and weekly pay in a well-established operation.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of transport operations, routing and planning.
• Understanding of tachograph legislation and the Working Time Directive.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with drivers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct driver briefings and debriefings.
• Support transport routing, planning and scheduling.
• Work closely with drivers, transport team and warehouse colleagues to ensure efficient operations.
• Assist with tachograph legislation compliance and Working Time Directive.
• Make operational decisions and use own initiative, including when management is not on site.
• Manage competing priorities and respond to changing operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks using Microsoft Office.
• Provide flexible support for overtime and holiday cover when required.
