M4 Talent Group in Worksop invites applications for a reliable Transport Night Operator. This site-based role focuses on day-to-day management and coordination of drivers and drivers’ mates to ensure they are present, prepared, and ready to work safely and on time.
You will handle driver queries, allocate personnel to vehicles and routes, monitor hours under WTD and drivers’ hours regulations, and communicate changes clearly to the team.
M4 Talent Group are looking for a reliable and organised Transport Night Operator to join our team in Worksop on a temporary to permanent basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful probationary period. This is a hands-on operational role, with the main responsibility being the day-to-day management and coordination of our drivers and drivers' mates. You will be the first point of contact for drivers arriving for their shifts, making sure everyone is present, prepared and ready to go safely and on time. You will be responsible for supporting drivers throughout the night, dealing with any issues that arise and ensuring the smooth running of the operation until the morning team takes over. Alongside the day-to-day driver coordination, you will occasionally assist with allocating and planning drivers onto routes, helping to ensure the operation runs efficiently and in line with working time and transport regulations. We are looking for someone who understands the fast-paced nature of transport operations and has a good working knowledge of Working Time Directive (WTD) rules and drivers' hours. This is a fully site-based role and would suit someone who is confident communicating with drivers and the client, can work independently and is comfortable making decisions when unexpected issues arise.
Ideally, you will have previous experience working within a transport, logistics or distribution environment and understand the pressures of a busy transport operation. You will be confident dealing directly with drivers and have the ability to communicate clearly, professionally and firmly when required.
We are looking for someone who is practical, approachable and organised, with a genuine understanding of transport operations. You don't necessarily need to be an experienced route planner. The most important thing is that you understand drivers, shifts, compliance and the realities of running a busy transport operation. If you know your WTD, drivers' hours and transport operations, are confident dealing with drivers and can keep things organised when plans change, we'd like to hear from you
