Job summary

NDE Solutions in Cullompton is seeking an afternoon Shift Leader to own the performance of the shift, ensuring safe, efficient and controlled delivery of production in line with the plan. You will support Operators and Team Leaders to achieve safety, quality, output and delivery standards.

You will monitor hour-by-hour performance, make real-time decisions to maintain flow, lead shift handovers and escalate issues when needed, while supervising attendance and ensuring trained operators.

Qualifications

• Own the shift outcome and ensure delivery against plan.
• Maintain safe, efficient and controlled production.
• Support Operators and Team Leaders to meet safety, quality, output and delivery standards.
• Real-time operational control with hour-by-hour performance awareness.
• Lead shift handovers with clear communication of status and priorities.
• Escalate issues beyond Team Leaders to appropriate support.
• Supervise Operators and Team Leaders; manage attendance and timekeeping.
• Ensure operators are trained and capable in their roles.
• Maintain standards of behaviour, safety and performance; follow standard work.
• Identify recurring issues and drive improvements on shift.

Responsibilities

• Own the shift output against plan and labour utilisation.
• Monitor performance throughout the shift and make real-time adjustments.
• Lead handovers and ensure cross-department alignment during the shift.
• Escalate and route issues to Setter, Process Engineer or Maintenance as needed.
• Supervise Operators and Team Leaders; manage attendance and disciplinary matters.
• Support continuous improvement and ensure adherence to standards on shift.
