Job summary

Nirvana Managed Services is seeking a dependable cleaner to maintain hygienic standards in a school facility during term time. The role emphasises security, cleanliness, and a welcoming environment for students and staff.

You will work Monday to Friday, 3pm–7pm, with some shifts shorter. Benefits include pension contributions, paid leave, and DBS processing if required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in janitorial or cleaning services is highly desirable.
• Physical endurance to handle manual labor, such as lifting and transporting heavy items.
• Keen attention to detail with a dedication to delivering high-quality, comprehensive work.
• Capability to operate autonomously with limited oversight.
• Strong communication abilities and a cooperative approach to teamwork.
• Willingness to adapt to scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the school term.
• Knowledge of cleaning agents, machinery, and industry best practices is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and disinfect designated zones, encompassing restrooms, classrooms, administrative offices, and shared areas.
• Dust all surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment on a regular basis.
• Utilize proper methods and tools to vacuum and mop flooring.
• Remove waste and recycling from bins, ensuring correct disposal and separation protocols are followed.
• Replenish cleaning materials, toiletries, and other necessary supplies as required.
• Promptly notify management of any maintenance concerns, safety risks, or equipment failures.
• Strictly comply with all safety guidelines, health regulations, and established cleaning procedures.
• Consistently demonstrate a professional, respectful, and courteous demeanor in all interactions.
