Job summary

Nirvana Managed Services is seeking a dependable school cleaner to uphold hygiene standards across classrooms, restrooms, and offices. You’ll help create a safe, sanitary environment for pupils and staff, with term-time only employment and pro-rata pay.

Shifts run 3pm to 7pm, with some 2–3 hour variations; DBS check is desirable and nest pension scheme is available. You will work autonomously, showing attention to detail and a courteous, cooperative attitude.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial or cleaning services is desirable.
• Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and school holidays during term time.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, offices, and shared areas.
• Dust surfaces and fixtures; vacuum and mop floors.
• Dispose of waste and recycle according to procedures.
• Replenish cleaning materials and report maintenance needs.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and disinfect designated zones, encompassing restrooms, classrooms, administrative offices, and shared areas.
• Dust all surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment on a regular basis.
• Utilize proper methods and tools to vacuum and mop flooring.
• Remove waste and recycling from bins, ensuring correct disposal and separation protocols are followed.
• Replenish cleaning materials, toiletries, and other necessary supplies as required.
• Promptly notify management of any maintenance concerns, safety risks, or equipment failures.
• Strictly comply with all safety guidelines, health regulations, and established cleaning procedures.
• Consistently demonstrate a professional, respectful, and courteous demeanor in all interactions.

Requirements

• Prior experience in janitorial or cleaning services is highly desirable.
• Physical endurance to handle manual labor, such as lifting and transporting heavy items.
• Keen attention to detail with a dedication to delivering high-quality, comprehensive work.
• Capability to operate autonomously with limited oversight.
