Job summary

Old Moat in Manchester seeks an enthusiastic After School Club Playworker to join our Out of School Hours (OOSH) team. You will help bring after-school provision to life, ensuring children finish their day with a smile through engaging activities.

The ideal candidate will have childcare experience, an ability to design activities, maintain safety and work well with parents and the OOSH team in a supportive school community.

Qualifications

  • Requires NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children or young people.
  • Ability to design engaging, safe activities indoors and outdoors.
  • Capable of effective behaviour management following school policies.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan and deliver engaging after-school activities for children.
  • Ensure children's safety and safeguarding at all times.
  • Design and facilitate indoor and outdoor play activities.
  • Maintain tidy, clean spaces at end of each session.
  • Collaborate with OOSH team to deliver high-quality provision.

About The Role

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Part Time, 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 3:00pm until 6:00pm, term time only
Number of positions: 1
Qualifications Required:NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent.
Pre-employment Health Assessment Required: Yes
Start Date: 5th October 2026

Salary:£26,016 full time equivalent. Salary to be pro-rata'd for part time, term time only working

In this role, you will help bring our after-school provision to life, ensuring our children wrap up their day with a smile.

About the Candidate
  • Is suitably well-qualified and has proven experience working with children or young adults.
  • Will support and design engaging, entertaining activities for the children, making full use of both our indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Ensures that the children are safe and secure at all times.
  • Is able to manage behaviour effectively, confidently following all school policies and procedures.
  • Is able to communicate effectively and warmly with parents and carers.
  • Will ensure that the spaces are left tidy and clean at the end of each session.
  • Can work well as part of the OOSH team, bringing a collaborative and positive attitude.
