KOOSA Kids are the leading provider of after school club, breakfast club and holiday club childcare and are passionate about delivering high quality childcare. KOOSA Kids are recruiting for After School Club Childcare Assistants at our Knaphill Lower School club in Woking, Surrey (GU21). This is a part-time, term-time-only role, working Monday to Thursday from 2:50 to 6:00pm.

The Role

As an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant, you will assist the After School Club Manager alongside other staff in the safe and organised running of the club, while actively and enthusiastically supporting and engaging children aged 4–11.

As an integral part of the team, you will help deliver a range of playwork activities such as Arts & Crafts, Sports, Team Games and other activities. Playwork involves removing barriers to play and enriching the play environment, while providing a safe and secure setting for the children in your care.

Responsibilities
  • Actively and enthusiastically assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the After School Club at Knaphill Lower School in Woking, Surrey (GU21).
  • Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and proactively encourage children to participate.
  • Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of snack time.
  • Be aware of and maintain sensitivity for any children with additional needs (physical, behavioural, dietary).
  • Develop strong relationships with all children to ensure they have fun at the club.
  • Develop understanding of relevant Ofsted standards and KOOSA Kids internal policies and procedures, including safeguarding.
  • Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day.
Skills & Experience
  • Passion or interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting.
  • Fun and energetic by nature.
  • Reliable with effective communication with colleagues and children.
  • Ability to relate to and engage with children aged 4–11 years.
  • Opportunities to gain qualifications and further growth and development; suitable candidates will be considered for training.
  • Full training and induction provided for all After School Club Assistants.

This role would suit someone with experience in a Primary School, Pre-School or Nursery (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant) or someone looking to move into the childcare industry.

Hours

Monday – Thursday, 2:50pm to 6:00pm, term-time only.
