Job summary

Junior Adventures Group UK is seeking an enthusiastic Playworker to join the After School Club team at Eastbury Farm Primary School in Northwood, Hertfordshire. The role focuses on delivering safe, engaging activities for children after the school day.

You will run sports, crafts and games, support arrivals and collections, maintain safeguarding, and work 15:15–18:00, 13.75 hours per week, term-time only, starting September 2026.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children (desirable).
• Positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, responsible and able to follow procedures.
• Ability to create a fun and safe environment for children.
• Energy, creativity and a genuine passion for childcare and playwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging activities including sports, games, arts & crafts, and structured play.
• Create a fun, inclusive and safe environment for children.
• Support children during arrivals, activities and collection times.
• Follow safeguarding, health & safety and company procedures at all times.
• Ensure sign-in and sign-out procedures are completed correctly.
• Prepare and provide refreshments while maintaining high hygiene standards.
• Assist with setting up and packing away equipment and activity areas.
• Complete accident, incident and activity records where required.
• Communicate professionally with children, parents, colleagues and school staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage participation and engagement.
