Job summary

Dowty, a GE Aerospace company, Gloucestershire, UK, seeks a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to guide a team turning advanced composite designs into hardware and scalable production. You’ll drive the manufacturing agenda from development builds through low-rate production and influence design for manufacture.

You’ll champion NPI, PFMEAs, control plans and efficient line layouts, ensuring training and documentation readiness while collaborating across functions to meet safety, quality, and cost

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with manufacturing focus.
• Experience leading engineers in a production environment.
• Experience with NPI from development to initial production.
• Familiarity with equipment and tooling specification and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and drive program success.
• Champion APQP/PPAP within NPI and develop PFMEAs and control plans.
• Define facility requirements for inline process control and site readiness.
• Lead development hardware manufacturing and transition to low-rate production.
• Promote lean solutions, value stream mapping and optimized layouts.
• Ensure training, work instructions and routings are produced for operators.
• Represent manufacturing throughout product development with design-for-manufacture focus.
