Job summary

Spherea Test & Services Ltd is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement software for test, measurement, simulation and control systems used in aerospace and defence contexts. You will work across the lifecycle with systems, hardware, electrical and project engineers, contributing to requirements, architecture, implementation and verification, with occasional UK and international travel.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in software engineering, computer science, electronic engineering, systems engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience developing software for engineering, industrial, scientific or equipment-based applications.
• Practical experience with languages/environments such as C/C++, C#, LabVIEW, TestStand or Python.
• Understanding of software architecture, design, and lifecycle including verification and release.

Responsibilities

• Analyse system and software requirements and contribute to architecture and design.
• Produce maintainable, documented code and develop test sequences and instrument drivers.
• Integrate software with instrumentation, data-acquisition hardware and units under test.
• Define software tests and perform unit/integration testing in lab and production environments.
• Support demonstrations, site acceptance and commissioning; maintain traceability from requirements to verification.
