Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd is recruiting a Sheet Metal Worker for a Basildon-based aerospace manufacturing site on a night shift. You will operate the AXYZ routing machine and related equipment to produce sheet metal components to exacting standards.

Training is provided for candidates with strong IT skills. Hours are 19:30–04:30 Mon-Thu and 14:30–19:30 Fri; experience in precision engineering or manufacturing is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in precision engineering or manufacturing is essential.
• A good understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, forming or general sheet metal duties.
• Familiarity with hand tools and manufacturing machinery.
• Strong IT skills would be beneficial, particularly for candidates who require training on the AXYZ machine.

Responsibilities

• Operate an AXYZ fabrication routing machine to produce sheet metal components.
• Deburr, drill, form and finish metal parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use machinery such as brake presses, guillotines, and band saws.
• Measure and form metal components to precise dimensions.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards.
• Work with aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel.
• Follow manufacturing procedures, health and safety guidelines, and quality requirements.
