This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in precision engineering or manufacturing who is looking to develop their skills within a high-quality production environment.

The successful candidate will work within the fabrication department, operating machinery to produce sheet metal components to exacting standards. Experience operating fabrication machinery is desirable, but full training will be provided for candidates with strong IT skills who demonstrate the right aptitude for the role.

The hours for the role are 19:30 to 04.30 Monday to Thursday and 14.30 - 19:30 on Fridays.

The hourly rate is £16.49 + 33%.

The Role
  • Operating an AXYZ fabrication routing machine to produce sheet metal components.

  • Deburring, drilling, forming and finishing metal parts.

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Using machinery such as brake presses, rubber presses, guillotines and band saws.

  • Measuring, marking out and forming metal components to precise dimensions.

  • Inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Working with aluminium, as well as mild steel and stainless steel.

  • Following manufacturing procedures, health and safety guidelines and quality requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication, forming or general sheet metal duties.

  • Familiarity with hand tools and manufacturing machinery.

  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong IT skills would be beneficial, particularly for candidates who require training on the AXYZ machine.

Experience within the aerospace or automotive industries would be advantageous.

Training and Development

Candidates who have the right technical aptitude and IT skills but lack direct experience with the AXYZ machine will receive full training, beginning with four weeks on the day shift before moving onto nights.

If you have a precision engineering or manufacturing background and are looking to build your experience within aerospace fabrication, we’d be keen to hear from you.
