Job summary

Gardner Aerospace Operations UK Limited Basildon is seeking a Semi Skilled Sheet Metal worker for night shift. You will read and interpret engineering drawings, set up and operate fabricating equipment, and produce parts to high standards.

Training on days will be provided in the first four weeks to get you up to speed. Ideal candidates have manufacturing experience, preferably in aerospace or automotive, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, preferably aerospace or automotive.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Competence with hand tools and fabricating machines.
• Experience with aluminum; occasional steel work.
• Adherence to ISO9001 procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures and quality standards to ensure right-first-time parts.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set up and operate fabricating machinery (brake press, guillotine, band saws, etc.).
• Assist with layout, measurement and marking on materials according to drawings.
• Work in cross-functional teams to deliver parts on time.
