Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Leicester laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Technician – Metallurgy to perform metallurgy tests, interpret microstructures and support certification processes. You will work on heat-treatment effects, contribute to data reports, and assist customers with technical inquiries in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a metallurgical lab, experience with Vickers/Rockwell hardness testing, and awareness of NADCAP/AS9100 standards.

Qualifications

• Min of 2 years in a laboratory role with metallurgy focus.
• Experience with metallography and material testing methods.
• Knowledge of Nadcap/AS9100 standards is a plus.
• Excellent data recording and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgy tests and evaluate heat-treatment effects.
• Operate hardness testers (Vickers/Rockwell) and tensile tests.
• Maintain lab equipment and calibration schedules.
• Assist in training and support internal/external customers.
• Ensure compliance with NADCAP and quality standards.
