Job summary

Martin-Baker Aircraft Co Ltd is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer to join the Mechanical Engineering team in Denham. You will manage materials and processes used across the business, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and quality requirements through the QMS.

You’ll work with a range of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes, providing technical support and driving continuous improvement to sustain high performance and safety-critical outcomes.

Qualifications

• HNC/BTEC or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials or a science discipline.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials (aluminium alloys, steels, copper, CRES) and related processing.
• Understanding of heat treatment (annealing, ageing, precipitation hardening) and testing methods.
• Experience creating technical documentation and presenting technical data.
• Familiarity with PLM or materials data management systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain process specifications and material specifications.
• Provide technical support on materials and processes to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support material obsolescence management and hazardous materials considerations.
• Assist with material reviews, defect investigations and engineering changes.
• Produce clear technical reports and present findings to teams.
• Plan workload and identify opportunities for continual improvement.
