Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a committed Apprentice for the Tool Room and Maintenance team in Redditch. You will learn to maintain manufacturing machinery and site services both electrically and mechanically, following a planned maintenance schedule and 5S standards.

The programme includes Make UK-funded qualifications, practical Foundation Training and a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge, with in-house training aligned to company requirements.

Qualifications

GCSE Grade 4 (or higher) as the basic entry requirement.
Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge.
In-house and Make UK training programmes fully funded by the employer.
Additional qualifications deemed necessary by the employer during the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

Provide effective and efficient service to maintain manufacturing machinery and site services electrically and mechanically.
Respond to breakdowns following the priority system.
Record breakdown and task information on completion using the Piranha system.
Undertake servicing of machines and ancillary equipment per schedules.
Carry out facility repairs and maintenance as required.
Source and obtain parts and materials per procurement procedures.
Maintain stock levels of spares and consumables and update registers.
Ensure tools and equipment are available and 5S standards are maintained in the workshop.
