Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a committed Apprentice for the Tool Room and Maintenance team in Redditch. You will learn to maintain manufacturing machinery and site services both electrically and mechanically, following a planned maintenance schedule and 5S standards.
The programme includes Make UK-funded qualifications, practical Foundation Training and a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge, with in-house training aligned to company requirements.
We are seeking a committed individual to join our business, with 57 global locations, at an exciting period of growth. The right candidate will be supported throughout the programme as we seek to share expertise to aid learning. The Tool Room and Maintenance Departments are essential functions of the business that provide day to day support to new machinery the business is investing in. The skills obtained during this apprenticeship will path a solid foundation into a career within a leading Global Aerospace Industry.

Setting and operating all Toolroom manufacturing equipment:
Setting and operating all Toolroom measuring equipment.
Tool development, to support current and future production requirements.
Working With Heading machine Setter Operators
Please note that according to the new grading system, the new equivalent of a GCSE C Grade is a Grade 4 (with a Grade 5 being the equivalent of a high C/low B).
Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gainseveral academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us and Make UK, which are fully paid for, including:
Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Practical Foundation Training – in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Workplace CompetenceTraining - in years 2 to 4 in company
Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge - in Years 2 & 3 on block release to Make UK
In house training in line with your requirements.
