Job summary

Safran Aerosystems in Braintree is seeking a Logistics Officer to join on a 6-month contract. The role supports Stores, Goods In and Dispatch, ensuring materials are received, stored, managed and distributed in line with procedures, while coordinating deliveries with UK and overseas customers and freight agents.

The position involves stock counting, packing, storing, and handling air/sea freight, with attention to safety and accurate records. Prior ERP stock management experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, stores, warehouse or dispatch.
• Good organisation and accurate record keeping.
• Clear communication with internal teams, customers and freight agents.

Responsibilities

• Receive, count and record stock using internal systems.
• Pack, unpack and store materials in an organised manner.
• Carry out regular stock checks and physical inventories.
• Support Stores, Goods In and Dispatch activities daily.
• Move and load/unload materials using equipment including forklifts.
• Issue materials to workshop teams against requisitions.
• Liaise with UK and overseas customers to arrange deliveries.
• Process air and sea freight shipments and provide clearance instructions to agents.
• Research freight costs and quotations; organise dangerous goods shipments per IATA/IMDG guidelines.
• Maintain records and support audits and inspections; uphold Health & Safety standards.
