Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd in Basildon, Essex, is recruiting an experienced EHS Officer to drive a proactive safety culture across site operations. The role offers strong leadership backing, career stability and a balanced working pattern with an early finish on Fridays.

You will implement UK H&S legislation, conduct risk assessments, lead investigations, and report HSE KPIs to management. NEBOSH Diploma desirable; manufacturing/aerospace knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as EHS Officer or similar in manufacturing/aerospace.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, risk assessments and audits.
• NEBOSH General Certificate desirable.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or ISO 50001 is beneficial.
• British citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Promote HSE compliance with UK legislation and maintain management systems.
• Carry out workplace inspections, risk assessments, and COSHH assessments.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near-misses.
• Coordinate fire safety, emergency plans and evacuation drills.
• Chair H&S committee meetings and deliver onboarding inductions.
• Track and report HSE KPIs to management and regulators.
