Job summary

Barnes Aerospace Ltd in Motherwell, Scotland, is seeking an experienced HR Adviser to deliver a proactive, people-focused HR service across the business. You will support the full employee lifecycle, advise on employee relations, and drive people initiatives while traveling between sites.

The role requires hands-on generalist HR practice, CIPD qualification or studying, and the ability to partner with managers to foster a positive, high-performing workplace.

Qualifications

• Broad HR generalist capabilities across engagement, org design, change, reward, ER, performance, recruitment, L&D and wellbeing.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering environment preferred.
• Ability to apply policy with consistency and fairness.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment including job descriptions, advertising, shortlisting and interviews.
• Coordinate onboarding and induction for new employees.
• Provide guidance on disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and capability.
• Assist with HR policies and procedures and ensure legal compliance.
• Prepare HR reports, manage employee records, and maintain HR systems.
• Support management with performance reviews and development plans.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.
• Contribute to HR projects and change programmes across sites.
• Travel between sites in Scotland and the North of England as required.
