Job summary

Eaton Aerospace Group Mission Systems Division (MSD) Precision Control Systems (PCS) in Cheltenham, UK seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Mechanical Design and Development team and support Critical Controls, Stores Ejection, and Data Processing value streams. You will oversee new product development, R&D, and aftermarket programs in collaboration with PM and in-service support teams.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will manage budgets, risks, and resources, drive on-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution is required.
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience managing engineers.
• 10 years aerospace or high-tech experience with NPD and sustaining support.
• Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
• CEng certification preferred.
• Experience with Defence and Major Prime Contractors.
• Background with manufacturing methods and process improvement.
• Familiarity with Electronic Control, Data Systems, and Pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage Mechanical Design and Development team.
• Ensure on-time delivery and OTIF.
• Maintain budgets and schedules; track NRC bids.
• Develop and deliver current and future project work packages within 5% variance.
• Identify risk and drive de-risking actions with project team.
• Lead recruitment, mentoring, and development of engineering staff.
• Ensure product documentation and design standards to meet global quality and cost targets.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
