Job summary

Eaton MSD Cheltenham is seeking a Lead Engineer to head a multidisciplinary engineering effort across software, electronics and systems disciplines. You will supervise engineers, interact with project managers, and ensure delivery on cost, schedule and quality throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires experience with ARP4754/DO-178/DO-254 and safety-critical development in defence or aerospace contexts, within a fast-paced agile environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or sciences.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (systems, software, electronics).
• Experience with safety-critical programmes and ARP4754/DO-178/DO-254.
• Experience in Defence or Aerospace industries.
• Knowledge of UK defence standards and related audits.
• Familiarity with DOORS Requirements Management tool.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver engineering development.
• Balance requirements, prioritise workload, and manage design reviews.
• Coordinate with non-engineering support functions and suppliers.
• Present project status to leadership and stakeholders.
• Author key project documents and develop performance declarations.
