Job summary

Boeing in Prestwick, Scotland, is offering a 3-month engineering internship within the Aerospace Innovation Centre. The role supports storage, distribution and structures integration technologies, translating research into practical applications in a highly collaborative environment.

You will gain experience in engineering project work, contribute to milestones, and interact with industry partners and academic collaborators, while developing skills in design, analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
• Experience in using structural design and analysis applications such as PLM, CAD and FEM tools to deliver solutions to challenging engineering problems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word, to support reporting, presentations and general project coordination.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, cross-functional environment while supporting multiple tasks and priorities.
• Familiarity with engineering application tools for Model Based System Engineering and simulation.

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering team with the structural design and analysis activities for an Aerospace Engineering Research and Technology Development Programme.
• Assist the team with delivering project milestones and deliverables to help keep workstreams on time and aligned with programme goals.
• Support meetings, prepare agendas, capture notes and follow up on actions with internal teams, industry partners and academic collaborators.
• Help create and maintain project documentation, presentations, status updates and other records to support clear communication and effective project execution.
• Support collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Gain practical experience in engineering within an advanced aerospace innovation environment, while supporting the successful delivery of research and technology objectives.
