Job summary

GE Aerospace is offering a 12-month Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering placement in Cardiff, with exposure to engine design, maintenance, and test specifications. You'll work across teams, applying lean principles and gaining hands-on experience in gas turbine fundamentals and engine architecture.

The program includes structured mentorship, opportunities across GE sites in the UK, and a focus on developing technical and analytical skills for aviation solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently studying an Engineering related Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree including Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, General Engineering, or similar.
• On course to achieve a 2:1 degree or above.
• To be in your penultimate year of study and returning to education post placement.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience across teams and locations, contributing to design, maintenance, and optimization of aerospace engines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply lean principles, and develop technical expertise in areas like gas turbine fundamentals and engine architecture.
• Engage in activities such as engine work scoping, tooling development, repair industrialization, and cost optimization.
• Participate in structured training and mentorship programs.
