Job summary

Eaton Aerospace in Wimborne, Dorset, is seeking an Electrical Test Design Engineer to own test packages and develop innovative solutions for aerospace systems. This hybrid role offers exposure to automated test systems across lifecycle, with collaboration across manufacturing, programme, quality and supply chain.

You will work on air-to-air/ground test equipment, interpret schematics, document procedures and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Engineering or science degree, apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience applying engineering principles to solve practical problems.
• Experience in electrical/electronic systems and lab testing.
• Ability to read schematics and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support automated electrical test systems throughout product lifecycle.
• Own projects from concept to deployment and support.
• Produce and maintain documentation including specifications and test procedures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, programme, quality and supply chain teams.
• Engage with suppliers for procurement and maintenance of equipment and services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for safety, efficiency and reuse of test solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers where appropriate.
