Job summary

HR GO Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator for a busy Aerospace Precision Engineering environment. The role covers turning and milling, setting and running jobs to tight tolerances using Mazak Mazatrol or Fanuc controls.

Programming is a bonus but not essential; candidates should be confident interpreting drawings and using precision measuring equipment. This permanent position offers steady work and career development.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (Turning and Milling) in a precision manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of Mazak (Mazatrol) and/or Fanuc controls (essential).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and work to tight tolerances.
Confident using measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers, bore gauges).
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a quality-first mindset.
Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes or Mills to produce precision components to engineering drawings/specifications
Set tooling, offsets, and workholding; prove out and run jobs efficiently
Make in-process adjustments to maintain tolerance and surface finish requirements
Complete first-off, in-process and final inspection checks using measuring equipment
Identify and troubleshoot tooling/machining issues and escalate where needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area
