Job summary

CNC Recruitment is recruiting an experienced CNC Mill/Turn Setter/Operator (Level 2) for a leading aerospace manufacturer in Poole, Dorset. The role involves setting and operating CNC Mill/Turn lathes with FANUC controls and inspecting own work to high quality standards.

The ideal candidate has completed a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, proven CNC Setter/Operator experience, and aerospace sector exposure, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to work well

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a fully skilled CNC Mill/Turn Setter/Operator.
• Strong working knowledge of FANUC control systems.
• Previous experience within the aerospace industry.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC Mill/Turn lathes using FANUC control systems.
• Manufacture precision turned components in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection of your own work to drawing and SPC requirements.
• Inspect your own work to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
• Maintain a high standard of engineering workmanship.
• Ensure your work area is maintained to excellent 5S housekeeping standards.
• Work safely and efficiently to meet production targets while maintaining exceptional quality.
