Job summary

MERITUS is seeking a Buildings and Construction Buyer to join our aerospace/CONSTRUCTION client on a contract until July 30, 2027. The role is hybrid with 3 days onsite at the Broughton site and BPSS+ clearance required.

You will manage sourcing, tendering and supplier relationships across major projects, including work on a Belfast project, ensuring cost, quality and schedule targets are met. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in procurement or facilities management, strong negotiation skills and

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience within procurement, operations or facilities management.
• Strong procurement experience within Building & Construction, manufacturing, facilities, CAPEX or related environment.
• Experience developing or implementing procurement and category strategies.
• Experience managing sourcing activities and competitive tender processes.
• Strong contract negotiation experience.
• Experience managing suppliers and commercial relationships.
• Knowledge of procurement contracts within a building or construction environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional project teams and internal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, including business cases, costing and financial KPIs.
• Experience monitoring supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery.
• Strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement activity across major building and construction projects.
• Provide long-term project support for a new project in Belfast.
• Lead tendering processes and contract negotiations to secure favorable terms.
• Manage day-to-day supplier relationships and lifecycle activities.
• Work with cross-functional teams to meet cost, quality and schedule requirements.
