Job summary

Meritus is seeking a Buildings and Construction Buyer for a contract at their Broughton site. The role is hybrid, requiring three days on site per week with mandatory Tuesday and Thursday attendance.

The contract runs to 30 July 2027 and BPSS+ clearance is required. The successful candidate will manage sourcing, tendering and negotiations across aerospace construction projects while maintaining supplier relationships and risk management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in procurement, operations or facilities management.
• Strong procurement experience within Building & Construction, manufacturing, facilities, CAPEX or related environment.
• Experience developing or implementing procurement and category strategies.
• Experience managing sourcing activities and competitive tender processes.
• Strong contract negotiation experience.
• Experience managing suppliers and commercial relationships.
• Knowledge of procurement contracts within a building or construction environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional project teams and internal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, including business cases, costing and financial KPIs.
• Experience monitoring supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery.
• Strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement activity across major building and construction projects.
• Lead long‑term project support for new project in Belfast.
• Contribute to sourcing activity, manage tendering processes and lead contract negotiations.
• Manage day‑to‑day supplier relationships and support projects through tendering, contracting and lifecycle.
• Work across multifunctional teams to ensure services meet cost, quality and programme requirements while managing risk.
