Job summary

Alpine F1 Team is offering a 1-year Aero Modelling Student Placement in Enstone, starting July 2027. You will support development and refinement of aerodynamic models and tools, using statistical analysis, ML and AI to extract insights from aerodynamic data.

Ideal candidates are in a quantitative degree, with Python (or Matlab) experience, and a strong interest in fluid dynamics and vehicle performance. On-site assessment is in September, with a competitive package and benefits.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a degree in a quantitative field and in penultimate year of university.
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and aerodynamic principles.
• Significant programming experience in Python (or Matlab).
• Interest in developing statistical modelling and analysis solutions to real-world problems.

• Assist in developing and validating aerodynamic models and simulation tools.
• Help analyse airflow behaviour and aerodynamic performance trends.

Our Aerodynamic Modelling group plays a key role in understanding and predicting airflow behaviour around the car, enabling data-driven decisions that shape aerodynamic development. As an Aero Modelling Student Placement,you’llbe part of a team that combines physics, simulation, and data science to support the design and optimisation of aerodynamic concepts.

The Role

As an Aero Modelling Student Placement,you’llsupport the development and refinement of aerodynamic models and tools used to predict and analyse car performance across testing domains.You’llresearch,implementand deploy solutions utilising a range of statistical analysis, ML & AI techniques to extract performance-targeted insights from our aerodynamic datasets.

• Collaborate with design and performance teams to ensure aerodynamic insights are effectively applied

WhoWe’reLooking For

• Currently studying for a degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Maths, Physics) and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and aerodynamic principles
• A demonstrable interest in developing statistical modelling and analysis solutions to real world problems, with significant programming experience in Python (orMatlab)
• Familiarity with vehicle dynamics and race-car performance factors is beneficial
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, analytical mindset
• You must have the right to work in the UK,as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centrein September
