Job summary

Reading Voluntary Action is seeking a dedicated adviser to support clients through our Advice Centre, community outreach sessions and home visits. You will provide practical guidance on welfare benefits and help clients access wider services.

The role requires at least two years in welfare benefits and a solid understanding of the UK benefits system, with excellent communication and IT skills. A compassionate, respectful approach and ability to work both independently and as part of a team are

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in welfare benefits and advice work.
• Strong understanding of the UK benefits system.
• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
• A compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental approach.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A full driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
• Experience of community outreach, supporting vulnerable people, working in the voluntary sector & supervising volunteers would be an advantage.
