Job summary

Vale of York Academy seeks an Advanced Teaching Assistant with a passion for inclusive education to help create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed.

You will support wellbeing, deliver targeted interventions and collaborate with the SENDCo, class teachers and senior leaders to ensure pupils, including those with additional needs, access a rich and engaging curriculum.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering targeted interventions and emotional support.
• Ability to adapt support, develop independence and collaborate with staff.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities.
• Work in classes or other locations within the school under supervision.

Job description

The Advanced Teaching Assistant will have a passion for inclusive education and helping to develop a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed. This role is central to promoting positive wellbeing, involving the delivery of targeted interventions and emotional support to help overcome barriers to learning so all children can access classroom teaching. You will use your expertise to adapt support, develop independence and collaborate closely with teachers, our SENDCo and other senior leaders to ensure all pupils, including those with additional needs, can access a rich and engaging curriculum and thrive both academically and personally., This role will work under the direction of the SENDCo, class teacher and other appropriate staff, in assisting with and contributing to the planning, delivery and evaluation of the learning process. The post holder will work in classes, or other appropriate locations within the school, whilst accessing support and guidance from staff, supervising groups and /or individual pupils.
