Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). The role focuses on managing incoming contacts and information to support timely safeguarding decisions and ensure vulnerable children receive the right support.

You will work in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment, with a strong emphasis on information sharing, analysis, and collaboration. Hybrid working arrangements may apply after induction.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker with current registration.
  • Experience working within Children’s Services and safeguarding.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding processes and thresholds.
  • Ability to analyse information and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
  • MASH experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

About the Role

Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its dedicated Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced, multi-agency environment where your expertise will directly contribute to safeguarding vulnerable children and young people.

The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) brings together key professionals from across partner agencies to facilitate effective information sharing, analysis, and decision-making. The team plays a vital role in ensuring children and young people receive the right support at the right time through robust safeguarding processes and collaborative working.

This is not a case-holding role. Instead, you will be responsible for managing incoming contacts and information to support timely safeguarding decisions.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing contact records and referrals.
  • Processing and coordinating information requests.
  • Undertaking probation checks and information gathering.
  • Participating in and contributing to strategy discussions.
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to support effective safeguarding decision-making.
  • Ensuring accurate record keeping and timely processing of information.
Skills/Experience
  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
  • Experience working within Children’s Services.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding processes and thresholds.
  • Ability to analyse information and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
  • Previous MASH experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
Working Arrangements
  • Full office attendance required during the induction and training period.
  • Following successful induction and once established within the team, candidates may work from home up to 2 days per week.
  • The team expects workers to attend the office regularly to support collaboration and service delivery.
