Job summary

North Yorkshire Councils is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to lead on safeguarding, QA, and complex casework within the Older Adults Team in Skipton.

You will mentor colleagues, support managers, promote strength-based, relationship-focused practice, and help implement the Care Act and the new Adult Social Care Assurance Framework. Flexible working and DBS enhanced level may be required as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Expertise in safeguarding, risk assessment, MCA and Best Interest decision-making.
• Evidence-based professional judgement to support safe, person-centred practice.
• Strong leadership and practice development to drive learning and improvement.
• Experience implementing Care Act and Adult Social Care Assurance Framework.

Vacancy Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Location: Skipton, North Yorkshire

Are you an experienced Social Worker ready to take the next step? Join us as an Advanced Practitioner and help shape the future of adult social care across the community in our specialist Older Adults Team.

In this pivotal role, you will:

• Lead on quality assurance, safeguarding coordination, and complex casework

• Manage a small team of Social Care Coordinators and Wellbeing Officers

We are looking for someone who brings:

Expertise in safeguarding, risk assessment, Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Best Interest decision‑making

You will provide confident, evidence‑based professional judgement to support safe and person‑centred practice.

A passion for improving outcomes for adults and carers

Strong leadership and practice development skills
