Job summary

CITY OF BRADFORD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL is seeking an Advanced Practitioner in Social Work to support the Adults with Disabilities locality team in Bradford. You will supervise staff, assist the Team Manager in coordinating workload, and contribute to practice development with a focus on human rights and UN CRPD principles.

The role requires a strong commitment to human rights, with experience in supervising social workers and supporting ASYE practitioners.

Qualifications

• Experience as a social worker with supervisory responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and safeguarding.

Job IntroductionWe are recruiting to the role of Advanced Practitioner Social Work to work in one of our Adults with Disabilities Locality Teams. You will be an experienced social worker who has taken on supervisory roles and deputy management. You will support the Team Manager Adults with Disabilities to plan and coordinate the work of the team. You will have a detailed knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation. From a values perspective, you will have a strong commitment to human rights at the heart of social work practice and will know and understand the importance of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. • supporting the Management Team across Adults Services in delivering a high quality Social Work to Adults and their families.
• To assist the team manager in the support and development of the Adults with Disabilities team and the wider service.
• mentor and support new social workers, including support and supervision responsibilities to newly qualified social workers undertaking the ASYE, to support their learning, seek out opportunities for their development and coaching as required.
• contribute to practice development, including undertaking activity that links to the Adults Services performance framework and practice model.
