Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team in Skipton. You will undertake asset- and strength-based assessments and develop personalised care and support plans that enable adults to live independently and safely.

Based at Belle Vue, Skipton, you will work with partners across health, community and voluntary sectors, participate in duty systems, and have opportunities to specialise with Mental Health, CHC and other teams while enjoying flexible

• Work collaboratively with health, community and voluntary sector partners.

We are looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team, working with adults under 75 who have a wide range of care and support needs. You will undertake meaningful, strengths‑based work that enables people to achieve positive outcomes, stay safe, and maintain their wellbeing. Your working base will be Belle Vue, Skipton.

About the Role

As a Social Worker in our Health and Adult Service’s, you will:

• Undertake asset‑and strength‑based assessments with adults and carers.

• Work creatively with individuals to develop personalised care and support plans that represent best value.
• Provide professional information, advice and guidance, exploring universal services, voluntary sector options, and alternative funding streams.
• Support the uptake of direct payments and initiatives such as reablement, personalisation, and self‑directed support.
• Undertake reviews, reassessments, and emergency interventions as required.
• Lead safeguarding adults’ information‑gathering and investigations (following training and experience).
• Maintain high‑quality, timely case records in line with council standards.
• Work collaboratively with partners across health, community and voluntary sectors.
• Participate in the duty system and support performance data collection.
• This role will include opportunities to work alongside specialist teams, including Mental Health, Preparing for Adulthood, CHC, DoLS/Review, and Prevention, supporting your professional growth.
