Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our ANP team in West Dunbartonshire on a fixed-term, 2-year contract. The role involves clinical leadership across a multidisciplinary team, with responsibility for assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prescribing for complex cases.

You will contribute to advanced practice across clinical practice, leadership, education and research, while holding a live NMC UK pin.

Qualifications

Clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning.
Clinical judgement and decision-making.
Anatomy and pathophysiology.

Responsibilities

Take and record a patient’s history including medical, family and social history.
Conduct a comprehensive clinical examination and mental health assessment as appropriate.
Screen patients for disease using clinical findings and tests.
Make diagnostic decisions based on findings and investigations.
Apply high level decision-making to formulate differential diagnoses.
Request appropriate diagnostic tests when indicated.
Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as appropriate.
Interpret test results and collaborate with other professionals.
Formulate action plans and evidence-based treatment approaches.
Prescribe treatments including non-medical prescribing.
Implement non-pharmacological interventions as required.
