Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the ANP team in West Dunbartonshire. The role covers clinical leadership, diagnosis, treatment and prescribing within four pillars of advanced practice, for a 2‑year fixed term at 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

Clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning.
Clinical judgement and decision‑making.
Anatomy and pathophysiology.
Non‑medical prescribing (V300).
Leadership in care delivery and evaluation.
Practice‑based learning or equivalent transferable modules.

Responsibilities

Take and record a patient’s history including medical, family and social history.
Conduct a comprehensive clinical examination and mental health assessment as appropriate.
Screen patients for disease using clinical findings and tests.
Make diagnostic decisions based on clinical and test results.
Request indicated diagnostic tests using sound judgement.
Conduct invasive and non‑invasive diagnostic/therapeutic procedures where appropriate.
Interpret results and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
Formulate an action plan and evidence‑based treatment.
Prescribe treatment including medications as a Non‑medical Prescriber.
Implement non‑pharmacological interventions as required.
