We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Band 8a Oncology Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) within our Oncology ANP team. This position is a fixed-term or secondment, one-year contract (1 WTE) covering maternity leave.

We are seeking an enthusiastic ANP with experience in managing patients undergoing Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) to join our Oncology ANP team. The role involves working alongside clinical colleagues to facilitate high-quality care within the oncology setting.

The Oncology ANP role encompasses expert clinical practice, education, leadership, management, audit, and research. The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing services, offering holistic, patient-centered, and sensitive care for Oncology patients.

Main duties of the job

·Clinical Practice

  • The main aspect of the role is working autonomously in the assessment and management of patients undergoing SACT at our Cancer Centres at GSTT and QMS site.
  • Undertake Nurse Lead GI Clinic on Mondays, responsible for reviewing follow-up patients undergoing SACT, maintaining high standards of nursing care through planning, coordinating, and delivering the nurse-led clinic.

·Leadership and Education

  • Lead and provide specialist ANP knowledge to the nursing teams at both Cancer Centres.
  • Develop, contribute, and lead educational programs working closely with the Oncology Nurse Consultant, Matron, and Head of Nursing for Oncology.
  • Undertake audits and research to inform best practice, improve patient outcomes, and support continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with all key members of the MDT, advising and supporting colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Proven experience in managing patients undergoing SACT is essential.
